2011 CrossFit Games Open

In 2006, I was invited to CrossFit San Diego to get a quick and dirty lesson on “Elite” Fitness.  It was quick and it was dirty, most of all it was extremely INTENSE!  Shortly after I was invited to a 2 Day CrossFit seminar and a CrossFit certification Level One.  It was official…

As a CrossFit Trainer I have coached for 5 years and over 100 athletes.  My military affiliate (CrossFit Prodigy) started in 2007 and has been at 3 commands.  My athletes include Fleet Sailors, Special Operations hopefuls (and Operators), and civilians.  I would not be where I am today as a trainer without my CrossFit experience.  I am not super athlete (but decent), but I have produced some of the best warriors in the free world.  My overall focus is to provide world class coaching to anyone that has the desire to improve their fitness level, by a little or a lot.

Currently I am expanding my coaching knowledge by seeking out the best coaches in the business to gain insight into methodologies and best practices.  When I travel outside of my home city, I make it a point to visit a CrossFit affiliate where I will be located.  I learn so much when I am just attending a workout as an athlete without my coach’s hat on.  I am also looking to shadow some of the coaches I look up to in the field (e.g. Josh Everett, Greg Amundson, etc.).  All to give my athletes the best methods in making them stronger, faster, and more resilient to life’s task.

Stay tuned for PART 2 of the series titled “Importance”, we will discuss the importance of Strength and Conditioning in life, professions, and personal protection.
